A colleague posted last week that he would be attending this…and now that it is over, I am enjoying reading about it. This is an example of applying today Jeremiah’s word from the Lord to the Hebrew exiles:
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7
This is a powerful example of demonstrating true care and respect for the people around us. The Church is threatened, but we do not need to fear. Jesus again and again assures the Church in Revelation that He remains the victorious Lord and that He continually remembers His people. With the confidence of His looking on our behalf, we can “pray for the peace and prosperity of the city”, even the city of those who do not profess Him as Lord. Humility, grace, and strength in the Lord.
