This is a most encouraging statement from Abp Wabukala especially in light of his statement earlier in the week follow ACC-15. He is expressing confidence in Jesus Christ first together with confidence in Bp Welby as the new Abp of Canterbury. Furthermore, the proposal for a chair of the primates meeting to be elected by the primates themselves is a constructive proposal for the health of the Anglican Communion. My greatest interest in these matters is that such confidence gives me hope for the on-going work of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ among all peoples of the world for the benefit of all peoples and the glory of God.
The world is crying out for hope: we must not allow ourselves as the Church to be so torn by dissension that we are distracted from its calling to be salt in the earth and a lamp on a lampstand. When we stay focused on the calling of Christ to be his witnesses, faithful to his Word, then the other matters will fall into proper perspective.
